Op 15 juli geeft HLN dit artikel gepubliceerd:"ASO kondigt zware coronamaatregelen aan de Tour: geen Village Départ, geen toegang tot renners, geen ceremonies". Voor mij was het toch even schrikken die bewuste ochtend van 15 juli, later die dag krijgt ik toegang tot het hele artikel omdat het een 'HLN+ artikel' was en het was nog erger dan ik al dacht. Op 23 juli geeft een counterende krant van HLN,  Het Nieuwsblad een heel opvallende atrikel:"De organisatie van de Tour krijgt vorm: rondreizend lado en urgentieverpleging" omdat het zo opvallend was ging toch eens lezen. Opeens sta er dit op "Mondmaskers in het Village Départ", dus HLN op een eerste leugen betrapt, YES!! "Alle personen die een geaccrediteerde toegang tot het grootste wielerevenement ter wereld bemachtigen, zullen in de vijf dagen voor de start ook getest worden op het coronavirus". Ondanks dat dit voor mij heel positief is heb ik mij touroperator gecontacteerd over deze ...

Vandaag, zondag 19 juli 2020. Op deze dag had normaal gezien de Ronde van Frankrijk moeten eindigen op de Champs-Élysées in Parijs. Met vertrekplaats in Mantes-la-Jolie, in het noorden van Parijs. Op deze dag had ik Elsa opnieuw kunnen ontmoeten na meer dan een jaar maar deze ontmoeting zal door het coronavirus misschien een jaar of via virtueel ontmoeten (video call). Deze week verschijn een artikel dat Christian Prudhomme zou gezegd hebben dat het voor ons als wielerfans geen leuke en totaal geen beleving zal zijn in de komende Tour de France. Geen Village Départ, geen Bloemenmeisjes,... dat kwam hard binnen voor mij, toen ik in de ochtend het artikel van HLN begonnen tranen in mij ogen te komen. Deze dag was heel lang tot april met rood aangekruist dat dat mij dag ging zijn van het jaar... Corona geeft anders geoordeeld. Sinds de aangekondigd van de nieuwe datums van de Tour: 29 augustus tot 20 september sinds dien was ik enkel met die 20ste september mee bezig geweest met de hoop...

The corona pandemic hit us hard, on our normal lives. Nothing is the same anymore since the beginning of March. In mid-March, country after country was put in lockdown by their virologists. President of the Podium Girl of the Year, Organization: Jonas Clauw, after I went into lockdown after France and Belgium, I did not stick around and provided security for the Podium Girls.
